Sapporo '17 - a winter fairy tale! Snowy fun at Odori Park, Hokkaido ramen, a visit to a traditional kissaten, and shopping. Unforgettable.
Hello, travel buddies! Get comfortable and warm up with your favorite brew, as I'm about to transport you back to our enchanting 2017 adventure in the winter wonderland of Sapporo.
Sapporo was an irresistible blend of everything we love - the pristine snow, mouth-watering Hokkaido ramen, the cozy, festive air. It was love at first snowfall!
There's something magical about a city blanketed in snow, isn't there? Like stepping into a fairy tale where every snowflake narrates a story. Sapporo was that fairy tale come alive, each flake a delicate kiss from the chilly winter air.
Speaking of kisses, let's talk about Hokkaido Ramen. Imagine the warmth of a hearty bowl of ramen spreading through you on a snowy day - it was simply divine! Each mouthful was an embrace from the Sapporo culture itself.
Odori Park was our winter oasis, the heart and soul of Sapporo. Frolicking children making snow angels, the muffled hush of a snow-covered landscape, and the simple joy of leaving footprints in fresh snow - a pure delight.
And oh, the kare (Japanese curry)! It was like a liquid sonnet, warming our bodies and spirits on those frosty days. The perfect blend of spicy and comforting, it was a symphony of flavors playing on our palates.
Our venture into a traditional kissaten (Japanese coffee shop) was an experience worth writing home about. The rich aroma of coffee wafting in the air, the charming ambiance - it felt like stepping into a bygone era of quiet elegance.
In the picturesque south of Sapporo, we explored Moiyama, bathing in the serenity of nature. To the east, we dove into the illustrious history of the iconic Sapporo Beer at the Sapporo Beer Museum.
The Shiroi Koibito Park in the west was an absolute treat. Imagine Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, but with cookies - an experience that was truly one-of-a-kind.
Lastly, we indulged in retail therapy at the city center, a treasure trove of shopping delights, from traditional crafts to modern designs.
Sapporo was a seamless tapestry of incredible experiences, heartwarming food, and ethereal beauty. It was the winter magic we lived, a love affair we still reminisce about every time a snowflake graces our world.
Be well,
